Q3 Counseling Lessons
3rd Grade
Lesson 1

4th Grade

SS7- Positively manage behavior and choices by applying self-discipline and self-control
Lesson 2
CS1- Develop skills to locate, evaluate and interpret career information
CA1- Develop and articulate postsecondary education and career aspirations
CK1- Research and appraise characteristics of a variety of traditional and nontraditional occupations
CA2- Articulate that career development occurs across the lifespan
5th Grade
Lesson 1
SK1- Develop and articulate personal values, attitudes, and beliefs
SE1- Participate in service project, service learning , and/or philanthropic activity (House Board)
SE2- Work effectively in a diverse group by developing and employing leadership and teamwork skills
Lesson 2
CK2- Articulate how personal abilities, skills, interests, and motivation influence values, choices and plans
CE4- Participate in a college and career assessment
CK4- Research and summarize the education and training needed to achieve specified career goals
Journals
Students should choose one prompt to answer. Please explain that students should not put anything that is an emergency or requires an immediate response if they are writing a personal concern (#3). Most students should be answering #1 or #2.
Prompts from the Q2 lessons will be attached to the outside of the journal folder and placed in your mailbox within the next couple weeks. They are due by the end Q3.

* School Counseling services are designed to be short term, solution-focused and should not be seen as a replacement for private therapy. All referral should be related to school performance (can be academic and/or social/emotional)
