We were very excited to have our first snowy day on Wednesday :) Now that the weather has turned colder, please ensure that your child/ren are ready for outdoor play: snowsuits, hats, boots, and mittens. It is always a good idea to provide an extra pair of socks and mittens, and we recommend that you label all of your children's winter clothing.
On Monday, we will have two Remembrance Day Assemblies: our Kindergarten-Grade 3 classes will gather in the gymnasium at 9:45, and our Grade 4-8 classes will gather at 10:50. Family members are most welcome to join us as we honour the contributions and sacrifices made by Canadian soldiers. Thank you to Mr. Eardley and Mr. Nicholls for organizing the Junior/Intermediate Assembly, and to Mrs. Panter and Mrs. Mace for organizing the Primary Assembly.
Thank you to all of the families who have sent in Poinsettia Fundraiser orders: we will continue to accept orders until Wednesday, November 13th. Order forms, pictures and information are provided below. Thank you for your support!
We are looking forward to seeing lots of families at our Movie Nights on November 27th and 28th. Parent Council sent home an information letter this week, and the details may also be found below. Thanks, Parent Council for helping us with this "fun-raiser!"
One of the Parent Council fundraising goals has been to provide more classrooms with "Brain Bikes": these silent, stationary bikes are an incredible tool for supporting self-regulation and promoting physical activity in the classroom. Our Brain Bikes arrived this week! Grade 7 & 8 Student Leaders helped to assemble them, and we can't wait to see them in action in our classrooms. Thank you so much, Parent Council, for your awesome support!
We hope that you have a great weekend,
Mme Peart and Mrs. Davey

Kindergarten Speech and Language Parent Workshop Information
The LDSB Speech and Language team is partnering with Early Expressions and the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic School Board to offer a parent/educator night in the Spring (location, date/time of workshop to be determined). The workshop will focus on oral language – how to support language development at home and in the Kindergarten classroom. We have created a survey so we can gain a better sense of what topics families/educators are interested in learning more about. All Kindergarten parents and guardians are encouraged to provide input.
