The Cloud Connection

Nov. 17, 2014

Reading: Students will continue reading Wonder this week. We're working on perspectives as we read this book. Our goal is to finish this book by the 26th of Nov.

Writing: Students are researching information for their informational writing. We're studying indigenous people of North America, and each student will be writing a mini-investigation about one tribe. Students will be writing their rough drafts this week. We'll have a spelling test on Friday. Our words are; earth, peer, twirl, burnt, smear, further, appear, worthwhile, nerve, pier, squirm, weary, alert, murmur, thirsty, reverse, worship, career, research and volunteer.

Math: Students will be learning about rounding decimals this week. Homework is; Mon. pg. 307-308, Tues. pg. 313-314, Wed. pg. 319-320, and Thurs. worksheet.

Students need to have your email address for our Photo Stories. I need to know if you have a PC or Mac. Please let me or them know so we can send you a file that will work on your computer platform.

Mrs. Bolin will begin her science instruction about earth systems with our class this week.

Reading logs are due on Monday.

I've included information about our biography book reports in today's newsletter. I've also sent all the materials home with your child so they should be able to work on this project as they're ready.

I'll be absent next week as I'm headed to visit my daughter and her familly in Wyoming over the holidays. Ms. Gribble is our guest teacher, and I know the students will be in good hands with her expertise.
