Who's Who at CRHS: Meet Debra Kromer
I am a Science/Credit Recovery Teacher. When my father was in high school he was running with the wrong crowd and actually dropped out. My mother was able to convince him to return and they both ended up graduating together. During my time with my father I learned that he was a very intelligent man and that he just needed a little push to be successful. Our community is full of children just like my father; I am hoping that I can be like my mother and provide them with the push they need. I love teaching science, but more than that I love teaching kids.
I have a BA from Baylor University (1997; Pre-med, spanish with a minor in chemistry) and an MA from The University of Texas (2005; Science education).
I have been married for over 15 years and have two girls, Miranda, who is a sophomore at CRHS, and Amanda, who is in the 2nd grade. I have been involved with Girl Scouts for 10 years and have facilitated many STEM summer camps for the Austin council. I love to volunteer and I’m an active member of many community organizations.
In my spare time I shuttle my two girls around to track practices and meets, basketball practices and games, dance performances and Girl Scout meetings. I also volunteer with the schools, Girl Scouts and my church. Nothing makes me happier than doing things with and for my girls.
