Mr. Posick's Friday email

The kids got back to learning quickly!
After Spring Break, one never knows what will happen when our students return. As I walked through the building on Tuesday, I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw. The students got right back into the school routine, and it was because of the expectations and procedures our teachers have in place. I saw students reading, writing, answering math problems, learning about the binary system, singing, playing their instruments, learning about rugby and golf, creating in art, and preparing for BizTown. It was a great day, and the learning continued right through the rest of the week. But we couldn't do this without your support, so thank you! It is much appreciated.
Our first play in years!
I'm so excited that Mr. Werni and Ms. Kohnert are directing our students in a play this Spring. The play is called "30 Reasons Not To Be In A Play". The shows are Friday, April 28th at 7PM and Saturday, April 29th at 2PM and 7PM. The tickets are $5 and are available at the door as well as in the Intermediate School office. Exact change or checks payable to Merton School are accepted. All shows are in the Primary School gym. We hope to see you there!
Grandparents'/Special Seniors Day Friday, May 5th
The morning of Friday, May 5th, National Junior Honor Society will be hosting Grandparents'/Special Seniors Day. The day is meant as an opportunity to learn about what school was like for our guests as well as how school is like for our students. This is only 2 weeks away! Please see the attachment in my email for more information.
One Wednesday a month, I have the honor of meeting with all of the students for an assembly. I speak to them about a variety of things like expectations and character development. We celebrate things once in while, too. Below is a link to the presentation I shared with the students at the assembly on Wednesday.
Sphero Club meets next Wednesday after school
Sphero Club returns next Wednesday after school. Anyone is welcome to join us from 4:00-5:00 in the Intermediate School library. If you want to know more about spheros, you can check out this link or ask one of our 5th graders. They've been learning with them all April long.
