New Staff in the Student Center!

Meet Shannon Dahse, MHS Student Assistance Counselor

Ms. Shannon Dahse is happy to join MHS during the 2016-2017 school year. She has a BA in Psychology and an MA in Counseling. Ms. Dahse is a certified SAC and Teacher of Psychology. She has years of experience as a SAC and acknowledges that high school can be a challenging time academically and emotionally. Ms. Dahse enjoys being a support to students and is passionate about helping them develop positive coping skills when faced with life’s stressors.

Services & Events


The Student Center provides:
  • brief, supportive, solution focused counseling services to students in areas that affect and/or impact their education
  • education and resources for mental health issues
  • stress relief activities to MHS community

Therapy Dogs

MHS schedule for Therapy Dog visits during 2016-2017 school year. The therapy dogs are scheduled to visit the high school on a monthly basis with additional visits scheduled during testing such as Midterms, AP Exams, and Final Exams.

Extended Lunch Time

Working with our food service provider Pomptonian, MHS holds extended lunches once a quarter to gives students a chance to relax and connect with friends.
