Thank you for providing the gift of Catholic education to your child.

Flyers are being sent home with your preschooler and are ready for you to explore with your child. Children read more when they choose their own books, so I encourage you to look at the flyers together. Ordering online is fast and easy (Please be sure to use the Class Code below)

REGISTER at or sign in if already registered.

ENTER the Class Activation Code V2K2D. This ensures your order is linked & sent to the Preschool.

CHOOSE from thousands of print titles, value packs, and seasonal selections.

SUBMIT the order online on or before the due date with a credit card on Scholastic's secure server.

Book orders will be due 1/22 this month. After we submit the order to Scholastic, your order will be delivered to your child at the Preschool within 7-10 days. Thank you for supporting this wonderful program. Through your generosity and love of reading, St. Michael Preschool will earn points to use toward free books and teaching supplies. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Many thanks to our Scholastic parent volunteer, Emily - Tuckers Mom, from Pooh's class!

HEALTH POLICY - To protect the health and safety of our community

If a child develops ANY of the COVID-19 exclusionary symptoms (fever of 100.4 or higher, chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, new cough, or new loss of taste or smell), families have three options:

  1. stay home for 10 days from when symptoms first began, or
  2. get a negative COVID test, or
  3. get a note of alternate diagnosis from the pediatrician

If a child is sick with any NON-COVID symptoms, like a fever under 100.4, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, vomiting, or diarrhea, our normal illness policy applies (24 hours free of diarrhea, vomiting, and fever without fever-reducing medication before returning to school). Your child must feel well before returning to school.

It is the responsibility of the parent/caregiver to understand and follow all health and safety protocols.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: ALL ADULTS on St. Michael Campus must wear a face mask when dropping off or picking up their child.

Hello Families!

Happy January! This month we will be sharing songs about all things winter! Songs will include dressing for winter, penguins, hibernating bears, snow, and snowmen! We will also sing a song about Lent as we approach this special liturgical season. Here are a few songs to try at home!

5 Little Snowmen & Where is the Bear?

Hat, scarf, mittens, and boots (Sung to the tune of Head, shoulders, knees, and toes song)

(Touch the part of the body that you wear the article of clothing, do it faster each time for added fun!

Lenten song (Sung to the tune of Frere Jacques)

Prayer, fasting, and giving (prayer hands, rub tummy, and outstretch arms)

We are meant to repent (strike chest)

Look What's New at Bond Park

The Paw Paw Trail in Bond Park will feature a Pop-Up StoryWalk. Starting at the Bond Park Community Center, enjoy the 1/2 mile woodland trail while reading Leaves by David Ezra Stein. This meaningful family experience was created by two of our very own St. Michael Preschool moms, Caroline Laski and Katie Richards. Thank you, ladies, for all your enthusiastic efforts to bring this wonderful month-long activity to our community!

Playdough is perfect for strengthening the muscles in little hands. Children will use these fine-motor skills later for handwriting, cutting, coloring, and much more. Simply playing with dough is soothing and calming, even for adults! It's a fun way of easing tension, releasing extra energy, improving focus and concentration. Our teachers encourage you to offer your child opportunities with playdough on a regular basis since its use in schools is prohibited by the health department during the COVID-19 health crisis. Check out more fun playdough ideas and a recipe to make your own.

Closings and Delays: Our policy is to assess conditions on St. Michael Campus and the local area to determine closings or delays at the preschool. We understand this may not always reflect weather conditions in your area or follow the Wake County School closings or delays, so please use your discretion when bringing your child to school.

Parents will be informed of school closings and delays via our all call communication system through the primary phone, text message, and email provided. If this information needs to be updated at this time, please let the preschool office know.

On delayed openings, Early Arrival and Lunch Programs are canceled and children bring a lunch and attend from 11:00-1:00 pm. This later dismissal time may interfere with younger children’s nap schedules, so again, please use your best judgment in sending your preschooler on these days.
