The Skipper Scoop
Week of December 17th
SKIPPER NATION
I look forward to a great week filled with hard work, final exams, and hopefully some candy canes. This will be the last newsletter of the year and I wanted to take a minute and thank you for being the community that you are. The staff at Harding appreciates all you do for our school and our kids. It truly is an honor and a privilege to work in such a caring and kind village. Happy holidays to all who celebrate. I hope you find some extra time with family and friends.
Notice the link at the end of this newsletter. Its another "challenge" going around that is extremely dangerous.
Make it a great week!

2018 State Champ Video
The Design Lab kiddos created this amazing video of last year's bowling team. It was created with a video editing program called NERO. Parents and students sent in clips of the bowlers and their amazing journey to the state championship. The kids produced the video by going through the pictures and adjusted them to fit the song that they chose. Brilliant! Thanks Mr. Messer and the design lab students for their dedication and for creating this inspirational video. Congratulations again ladies!
Maltz Museum
Mrs. Knight took her 8th grade English students to the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage on Wednesday. The met Holocaust survivor Helen Marks. Students had a guided tour of the museum on the "stop the hate" tour. According to Mrs. Knight the students were complemented several times for their respectful and inquisitive nature.
Holiday Concert 2018
Mr. Ruzin has done it again. The FHS band did an outstanding job at their concert on Wednesday. The holiday songs got everyone in the spirit and the kids did a beautiful job displaying their talents. Thanks to all for the wonderful show.
Gold Coin Challenge
A few teachers and I hid gold (chocolate) coins around the school last week. The students were challenged to find a gold coin and come to the office to pick a prize out of a hat. Prizes included a cake pop, bottled water, holiday pencil, and a freshly baked cookie.
Door Decor
Staff and students got into the holiday spirit last week decorating their classroom doors during Advisory and Homeroom time. The doors will be judged this week....stay tuned for the winner!
