Wellness Topic - Hardiness
In a recent piece in Outside magazine, Brad Stulberg wrote about hardiness. It was a great article that discussed hardiness in the context of mountaineering while drawing parallels to the ascents and descents we have all had to make during the pandemic. A powerful concept in the piece was existential courage.
- Committed - We accept the situation we are in (whether we like it or not) and move forward anyway.
- Control - We figure out what we can do to influence the situation in which we find ourselves.
- Challenged - We know things are everchanging and there is no fixed outcome; we persevere.

This week we hope all of our college-bound juniors will sign up to participate in The College Board's Opportunity Scholarship program. This program guides students step by step through the college planning process. For each step that a student completes, they'll earn a chance at a $500 scholarship. When they complete all six steps, they'll earn a chance at $40,000.
