Wellness Topic - Hardiness
In a recent piece in Outside magazine, Brad Stulberg wrote about hardiness. It was a great article that discussed hardiness in the context of mountaineering while drawing parallels to the ascents and descents we have all had to make during the pandemic. A powerful concept in the piece was existential courage.
- Committed - We accept the situation we are in (whether we like it or not) and move forward anyway.
- Control - We figure out what we can do to influence the situation in which we find ourselves.
- Challenged - We know things are everchanging and there is no fixed outcome; we persevere.
