Ecole Secondaire Notre Dame Presents: Something Rotten!

Something Rotten is set in the Renaissance period, where brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star, Shakespeare. After consulting with a local soothsayer, Nick finds out that the future in theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time. Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. This show is full of laughter, misfortune, and love. Welcome to the Renaissance!

Grow Kids 2021 (Go Girls/Grow Boys Unite)

Go Girls and Grow Boys Leaders!! We are back and uniting to create GROW KIDS 2021! We are offering Red Deer grade 5 classes a virtual event on May 5th! We will collaboratively align our conference sessions to encompass the ideas of responsibility, respect, connection, relationship, movement, creativity and positive well-being.

Although we would have loved to join together in person for a more hands-on experience, we respect where we are at as a community, recognize the efforts it takes to plan the in- person event and are embracing the challenge of creating this virtually interactive event. So, how do our leaders fit in??? We are looking for fun, inspiring messages to share throughout the day with the students. Just quick little energy breaks or inspiring messages! Tik Toks showing a dance, a "10 things to survive middle school/high school", inspiring messages, basically anything that shows this group of kids a great day - just like you would if you were right there with them!

Please join me on Thursday, March 25th at 12:15 on a Google Meet! I would love to get a list of students willingly to be part of this exciting day! Save the following link into your calendar and I will "see" you there! Any questions, come see me in person prior to the Meet! Service Projects

Our Annual Service Project continues! This year we are supporting the Smiles thru Lindsey Foundation. Lindsey was an ND alumni who graduated ten years ago and tragically took her life five years ago. Team Fundraising will continue until June in hopes of raising $40,000 to honour Lindsey and continue to support mental health initiatives in our community.

Teams have been competing in challenges all week that focus on positive mental health, supporting each other and connecting. Challenges include banner making, art therapy, purposeful acts of kindness, the creation of Public Service Announcements and a 24 hour scavenger hunt.

Stay tuned for the online art auction at the end of the month! Want to help? Donations are accepted at ND. Want to get involved? See Ms. Nivens to join in.
