We have been presented with the opportunity to have nationally-renowned speaker, Kevin Hines, come to both the high school and middle school on March 10th and 11th (45-50 minute presentations) to talk to students about suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Kevin Hines survived a serious suicide attempt in 2000 and his life is now dedicated to suicide prevention. Kevin Hines is a mental health advocate and motivational speaker who now travels the world sharing his story of hope, healing, and recovery while teaching people of all ages the art of wellness and the ability to survive pain with true resilience. Dominic’s Light will also be hosting a community presentation with Kevin Hines on March 11th.
Kevin Hines will be speaking in the middle school auditorium to 8th grade students on March 10th from 8:30-9:20 AM and to 7th grade students on March 11th from 1:00-1:50 PM.
Kevin Hines will be speaking at the high school on March 10th and 11th at 3:00 each day. Freshman and sophomores will listen to him on one day, and juniors and seniors will listen to him on one day.
Kevin Hines will also be doing a community presentation on the evening of March 11. This is being put on by Dominic’s Light. There will be resource tables available before the presentation, and Kevin will start speaking at 7pm.
There are school counselors available at both the middle school and high school for the students if there is anything that a student would need to talk about after the presentation. Students may request a counselor through the office or one of their teachers.

What is a Professional Coach?
As a professional striving to be your BEST, you may seek someone at times to help you achieve a goal or improve your performance. A coach is there to help with professional development in areas such as organizational skills, leadership development, communication skills, and work/life balance. Important questions to ask yourself as you start the coaching process are: "What do I want to get out of this? What abilities and skill sets do I want to discover and master? How do I want to show up differently so I am my BEST?
A BESTology Professional Coach can also help you navigate setting up EAP resources.
