Spring Break
This is IT!
The final date to order a yearbook on-line is today, March 22nd. If your student is interested in a 2018/19 yearbook, it is not too late to purchase one. The link below will remain active throughout the day on Friday, March 22nd, but then will be deactivated at midnight on that date. If you are unable to recall if you placed an order at the beginning of the school year, please contact the main office at 214-3240. Please be aware that March 22 is a FIRM deadline. We do NOT order any extra yearbook copies to sell in May.
Media Center Minute
Children’s Literature Festival-
84 students in grades 6-8 earned the privilege to attend the Children’s Literature Festival in Warrensburg, Missouri at Central Missouri State University this past Monday. Students and teachers attended sessions from visiting authors and enjoyed lunch at the Student Union. Some of the authors that students saw were: Gary Schmidt, Avi, Tiffany Jackson, Obert Skye, Antony John, Raul Gonzalez, Jen Wang and Paul Griffin. We are so thankful to the Gentry Middle School PTSA for sponsoring this trip for us!

The CPS Families Portal is a one-stop shop for all CPS information that parents might need. In order to access it you may go tohttp://portal.cpsfamilies.org and sign in to access Schoology, Home Access, My School Bucks, Parent Messaging System, and CPS Digital Resources. The attached flyer will give you more information as well.

PBIS Expectations
The PBIS expectation for the week of 4/1 is being Kind in the cafetorium.
This means we will be looking for students who are able to:
- Invite others to sit at their table
- Volunteer to help
- Be courteous to all adults
Advisory April 1st to 5th (after Spring Break!)
During the week of April 1st to April 5th Gentry Students will learn more about fellow classmates by learning more social skills and empathy. Also, students will practice ways to be more understanding. Students will also reflect on the effects of empathetic listening and learn what it means to put yourself in someone else’s shoes.

6th Grade Intramurals
Our last round of 6th grade intramurals will kick off on April 2nd with coed volleyball. If your 6th grade student is interested in participating in this final round, please complete the below registration form and have them return it to the main office.
