JBD Class Scoop
Second Grade-Jace Ludford was one of the many children I interviewed. He said they have been learning multiple things in math, such as addition and subtraction. They also did a fun Easter themed S.T.E.A.M project. They used 4 types of liquids; 7-Up, water, vinegar, and Sprite. They put Peeps in each of the liquids to see which one would dissolve first. Charlie Loiselle said in language arts they are studying China and Egypt. They have also been studying the indian tribes Powhatan and Bakota. Every Monday they write about what they did over the weekend. It sounds like the second graders are having so much fun in the last quarter of the year!
-Georgia H.
Third Grade- Third grade is developing to be upcoming fourth graders. They have been learning a lot and gaining smarts. They are currently learning (in math) about area, statistics, and perimeter. In Language Arts they are learning about biographies and autobiographies. To prepare for SOLs, they are doing SOL reviews and reviewing past subjects. They will be taking SOLs through May 26-30.

Fourth Grade- 4th Grade is getting ready for the SOLS. They have been doing practice tests and mock tests. They have homework which are sites for SOL practice. Fidget Spinners....The Latest Craze!
Fidget spinners are the new “thing” in schools, and they are getting very popular. Some schools have banned fidget spinners, including ours. Fidget spinners are made only for people with difficulties, but the problem is that normal people are using them as toys and not listening to the teacher. This goes for fidget cubes as well, because they have the same principal as fidget spinners. Fidget spinners are distracting to people, and should not be used in classrooms. Mrs. Bianchi is being disrespected when people are using them when she has said no. Please do the right thing and stop using them.

-Dana H.Recipe: Ice Cream Sandwich Cake
Ingredients
7 ice cream sandwiches (Blue Bunny brand)
8oz. Cool Whip or whip cream equivalent
one candy bar, chopped (Twix)
Hot fudge to drizzle
Servings
Servings can vary but this recipe serves 6-8 people. If that is not enough use a bigger pan.
Directions
Line a loaf pan with wax paper. Fit one layer of ice cream sandwiches on the bottom (if you use the Blue Bunny brand, the length fits perfectly in a loaf pan and you’ll just have to cut one of the sandwiches in half). Spread half the Cool Whip on top of the sandwiches followed by another layer of ice cream sandwiches and the rest of cool whip. Then sprinkle the chopped candy bar on top (or chocolate chips would work too!). Freeze for at least two hours and up to a week. To serve, pull up on the wax paper – the cake should come right out. Place on a cake plate. Before serving, drizzle with chocolate fudge if desired.
