Loving Every Minute of Learning

Dodson’s Dish

The weather outside has been gorgeous! I had the opportunity to go outside and play Connect Four with some of our students. If you have not seen our huge Connect Four game boards, go check them out. Our students love them, and so do the adults. Thank you again for your generous donations during our Fun Run! Your contributions allowed us to purchase them for our students. Special shout out to Mr. Harper for spending an afternoon installing them on our playground.

If you have a few minutes to spare tonight, come by and vote on our 2016-2017 PTA Board. The slated officers are:

Stacy Miller- PTA President

Amy Guest- 1st VP/Fundraiser

Ashley Jarzombek- 2nd VP/Programs

Julie Delage- 3rd VP

Meredith Suder- Treasurer

Charissa Painter-Wang- Secretary

If you would like to serve our school by joining the PTA Board, please contact Stacy Miller at staceyandmatt@sbcglobal.net. I must say, they are a great group to work with. I enjoy my time with them...lots of laughs!

Enjoy your day,

Serita Dodson

As you know our school has been classified as a Healthy School Zone, which is a school that promotes healthy behaviors at our school and in our community.

Attached is a fun activity that can be completed at home, Get Moving Bingo. We are encouraging all students to play the game at home with their families in an effort to promote physical activity. After the game card is completed have your student bring the bingo sheet to PE and they will receive a Pride Ticket in recognition of their efforts.

2016- 2017

I cannot believe it is time to send out this email regarding teacher placement for the upcoming school year. The faculty and staff at Isbell care individually about each child. We spend a lot of time creating class lists based on each child’s individual needs. Teachers go through an extensive process to ensure that each class has the best balance possible of all types of students. We strive to weigh each student’s needs so that every child will have a year of loving every minute of learning.

If there are specifics you want to make sure we keep in mind about your child with regard to choosing a comfortable fit for your child’s class next year, please email me by April 25th. Please know that FISD does not allow individual teacher requests.

At Isbell, we truly believe that elementary sets the stage for a child’s school experience and therefore is an especially crucial time. Additionally, as a Professional Learning Community (PLC), Isbell holds tight to the belief that each student at our school is the responsibility of each employee on campus. We all work every day towards the goal of ensuring our students Love Every Minute of Learning! With these beliefs in mind, I want to share with you that all of our teachers collaborate together for the lessons that will be taught in the classroom. They also collaborate to discuss any data, student needs, or anything else that impacts student achievement. Rest assured, your child will be in great hands.

Warmly,

Serita Dodson, Proud Principal, Isbell Elementary School
