As you know our school has been classified as a Healthy School Zone, which is a school that promotes healthy behaviors at our school and in our community.
Attached is a fun activity that can be completed at home, Get Moving Bingo. We are encouraging all students to play the game at home with their families in an effort to promote physical activity. After the game card is completed have your student bring the bingo sheet to PE and they will receive a Pride Ticket in recognition of their efforts.

If you love to draw and paint, then this project is for you!!! The Isbell Library is looking for amazing artwork to help decorate the library walls!! If you would like your artwork featured in the Isbell Library, please read the guidelines below:
Library Art Guidelines:
· All artwork must have a “reading theme”. For example: it could be the cover of your favorite book or just a picture that shows that reading can take you places. Get creativity!
· The artwork needs to be on a 16 x 20 sized canvas. You can
purchase the canvas at any local art store (Hobby Lobby, Michaels etc).
· There is no deadline for this project, we will display the artwork as they come in!
· Turn your artwork in to Mrs. Beathard when finished!
I’m looking forward to seeing your art come to life in the Library!

Second Grade Scoop!
Second grade had such a blast this week as we discussed nominating their favorite books to their peers. We used our writing to help us convince readers why they should read the favorite books we chose. After we spent time editing papers, we celebrated our writing by having a publishing party. Students took the time to visit each classroom and read their friends’ writings. It was wonderful seeing all of the student’s faces while they read all the positives notes that were left by their friends over their nominations. We can’t wait to see what our friends take from this experience and put it towards the poetry unit!
New Bundle of Joy...
2016- 2017
If there are specifics you want to make sure we keep in mind about your child with regard to choosing a comfortable fit for your child’s class next year, please email me by April 25th. Please know that FISD does not allow individual teacher requests.
At Isbell, we truly believe that elementary sets the stage for a child’s school experience and therefore is an especially crucial time. Additionally, as a Professional Learning Community (PLC), Isbell holds tight to the belief that each student at our school is the responsibility of each employee on campus. We all work every day towards the goal of ensuring our students Love Every Minute of Learning! With these beliefs in mind, I want to share with you that all of our teachers collaborate together for the lessons that will be taught in the classroom. They also collaborate to discuss any data, student needs, or anything else that impacts student achievement. Rest assured, your child will be in great hands.
Warmly,
Serita Dodson, Proud Principal, Isbell Elementary School
