Dear Essex Hornets,
It’s been quite the year so far and we are looking forward to the much needed winter break. Many of us will not be able to spend time in person with all of our family as usual and that may make this break feel very different. It’s important that we can still use the time to rest, rejuvenate, and have some fun.
We have received requests from students and families to pause on assigning new work during school breaks so our community has a chance to rest. We hope you get a chance to reconnect with friends and family (even if over Zoom), read a good book or play in the snow, do something nice for someone in your community or spend time on a hobby.
The winter season can often be a tough time for many people, and with the stress of the pandemic, we may be struggling even more than usual. We have all had times in our life when we needed additional support. If you find yourself, or a family member, having an especially hard time please do not hesitate to reach out to one of the many resources available. Here is a list of community resources compiled by our EHS counseling team. There should be no stigma or shame in taking care of yourself and your family.
We hope you will all have a beautiful, restorative, and restful break and are looking forward to when we come together again rested and refreshed.
