Title I Annual Meeting Information

Our annual Title I Meetings were held on August 23rd at 9:00 am in the media center and 4:30 pm via Google Meet. In this meeting, we discussed the topics below:

  • Title I Funding
  • Programs/Supports in Place to Help your Students
  • Academic Standards Expected of All Students
  • Measuring Student Progress

Parents' Right to Know

In compliance with the requirements of Every Student Succeeds Act, the Griffin-Spalding County School System would like to inform you that you may request information about the professional qualifications of your student’s teacher(s) and/or paraprofessional(s).

The following information may be requested:

  • Whether your child's teacher has met state qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction
  • Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which state qualification or licensing criteria have been waived
  • Whether the teacher is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher.
  • Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.

Griffin-Spalding County Parent Resource Center

Did you know that the Griffin-Spalding County School System also has a Parent Resource Center? Find hands on activities, books and brochures for your student in our District Parent Resource Center. The center is designed to provide educational resources for parents to help your student succeed academically. Parents can also find computers with internet access at the center. The best part is resources are FREE! You can find the Parent Resource Center located in the Parent Services Building, Room 121 on 234 E. Taylor Street, Griffin, GA 30224. Elementary Family Literacy Night

  • Sign up for a FREE library card from the public library (adults and students)! Bring your drivers license or proof of your current address
  • Our EIP teacher, Dr. Pamela Ray will read her book
  • Visit classrooms to learn about reading levels, Lexiles, and strategies to improve reading
  • Door prizes!

School's Parent Resource Center

At the Jordan Hill Elementary Parent Resource Center, parents can find academic pamphlets and brochures, homework help strategies, books and games for checkout.

Strive for 95 Attendance

The purpose of the Strive for 95 Campaign is to improve student average daily attendance to at least 95% throughout GSCS by implementing comprehensive strategies that effectively promote, communicate, model, and reinforce positive student attendance
