Practice Plan

We are encouraging students to have a Practice Plan every time they sit down to play. Practicing should be intentional, and they should know what they are trying to improve everytime. That's how efficient and get better quicker! As directors are working with them individually in class, we will be asking them about their practice plan. Make your child tell YOU what their practice plan is too! The more of us that are holding them accountable to this standard, the better!

PHS UIL Marching Contest

Our Prosper HS Mighty Eagle Band competes at the UIL Marching Contest on Saturday, October 22nd. We are excited to be able to take a small group of students with us to that event! The first 45 students to turn in $5 cash (in an envelope with their name on it) will be signed up to go!

Can you help?

  • We are wrapping up Volleyball and Football season this month! If you have not had a chance to volunteer yet, we'd love to have you sign up and work one of our concession stands. There is one night left for Volleyball (10/20), and 2 nights for Football (10/18, 10/25). Click the link below to sign up:

8th Grade Night

We are excited about our 2nd annual 8th grade night with the PHS Band! On Thursday, October 27th, 8th graders only (sorry 7th grade!) will meet that the Band Hall at 5:30pm in their band shirt. We will walk to the stadium together, where PBBC will provide us with a hot dog/chip dinner and a gatorade and eat with the PHS Band! Then they will give YOU a marching lesson. :) We will finish by watching them rehearse before their final marching contest of the season. Mark your calendars!

Carol of the BAND!

Information will be coming out next week about our "Carol of the Band" fundraiser! We are so excited about it!

Thank you so much to Leah Cheng and Amanda Adamson for all they have done behind the scenes so far to help us prepare! You ladies are ROCK STAR volunteers, and we appreciate you! If you are interested in joining our volunteer team to help organize and promote this event, please reply to this email. The more people we have to help, the better!!!! Thank you in advance!

Practice Record

This week was the last practice record students will turn in as we are transitioning to SmartMusic assignments on a biweekly basis. Please remember that if you do not have a SmartMusic account at home then you will need to reserve a school iPad. Based on student performance it will dictate if we return to a regular practice record. My hope is that students will be efficient with their time and utilize their practice plan to maximize what they do.

SECTIONALS THIS WEEK

Thank you for the sectional candy!! We appreciate it! Sectionals are like normal this week. Please remember that sectionals are for a grade, and if you miss one, please communicate with me about scheduling a make-up.!
