Assistant Principal's Message

Grant me courage to serve others; for in service there is true life.

Cesar Chavez

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Suzanne Adame, your assistant principal. I am honored and humbled by the privilege and responsibility I have been given to serve the Parkridge Elementary Community.

As we honor our Veterans this Thursday, we are reminded of the immense gift that service to others can be to us all. I am proud of my father, uncles, cousins, and friends have served our Nation by being a member of the US Armed Forces. Their service is greatly appreciated, as is the strength and sacrifice of their families. Thank you to our Veterans.

There are many members of our Parkridge community that serve others on a daily basis and as I reflect on all that serve, I would like to focus on our teachers, specialists, and para educators. Each day, they are providing our students with the best instruction, support and interventions. Also, they are are committed to providing a positive and safe learning environment for all of our learners. In order for our students to benefit from this service, it is essential that they are at school, on time, and ready to learn each and every day. Good attendance is a strong indicator of academic success. Please have your children at school each day. Their presence is necessary for future success. Students are to be in their seats and ready to learn at 8:15 each morning. Gates are closed at 8:15 a.m.

Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve.

Martin Luther King Jr.

An essential part of my role as your Assistant Principal is to guide, support, encourage, listen to , work with, and learn from our Parkridge staff, families , and students. I am here to serve. It is through this service that I hope to have a positive impact on all students and their learning and success. Thank you for the opportunity to be on this journey with you and your children.

With gratitude,

Suzanne Adame, Assistant Principal

Counselor's Corner

Communication is the foundation to any relationship. Each Thursday your child's classes are given a mindful question to "think about" and answer. This week's "Think about it Thursday" question was "What is something you are really good at?" Ask your child what they said. Simple questions like these can help to create connections and strengthen relationships!

Parkridge hosted 2 student enrichment days on 10/15 and 11/1. Students participated in STEAM rotations that included a science glow stick lab and using hot wheel cars and tracks to explore potential and kinetic energy. Students also participated in Pure Joy Basketball, art, and creation stations such as using tangrams and geoboards.

College Kick-off Week!!

We will be having a College Kick-Off week from 11/15-11/19. Each day, students will take virtual field trips from Colleges and Universities around the US. Students in grades 3rd-6th will also research a college of their choice and make a Google Slide presentation to share. Primary students will make a project about what career they would like to pursue after college. On Wednesday, 11/17, students will be encouraged to wear a college T-shirt with their uniform pants to school.

Every day that week our 6th grade students will announce fun college facts during the morning announcements to engage students and teachers in conversations about colleges and what it is like to attend college.

Encourage communication by asking your child about their school day. On their agenda you will find assignments and activities they did throughout their day and what homework they might have for that day. Don't forget to sign their agenda every night!

Students can earn AVID BUCKS for the AVID STORE!!!

Our AVID store will be open for grades 3-6 on November 15, 16, and 18 and students will have the opportunity to spend their AVID bucks on some cool school supplies.

HUGE shoutout to all teachers and staff that participated in the Harvest Maze Fest!!! It was absolutely amazing! Thank you to all the families who joined us for the even. Your support is greatly appreciated!
