June News!

Mrs. Eberts' Kindergarten

Where does the time go?

It is so hard to believe it is June already! The last 9 months have flown by and the Kinder Kids have grown so much academically, socially, emotionally and physically. I am very proud to pass on an amazing group of students to the Grade One teachers!

Literacy/Numeracy

This month we will be reviewing a variety of outcomes we have learned throughout the year. We will be reading stories about pizza this week and then reading some non fiction books on ants and butterflies. As well, we will practice and learn about Pedestrian Safety before we head out on our last field trip to Safety City. In Math, we will finish up our 3D objects and measurement learning, play math games, break numbers apart and have some fun playing counting to 10!

Reminders for this month

Thank you...

I can not thank all the parent volunteers enough for all the help this year. Helping in the classroom, bringing snacks in at Halloween, swimming and going on field trips. We couldn't have a great classroom without you!

In closing for this year...

We will send home school supplies on June 16th.

Our last day of Kindergarten is June 23rd. We will have one last morning of play, pack up our backpacks and portfolios and head off to Safety City for the afternoon. Report cards come home and will be in the front of your child's portfolio along with new work and pictures from the last few months of school. If you are not going to be at the last day of school, please let me know.

The students have done an amazing job transitioning to recess with the other students. They are definitely ready to fly to grade one!

It has been our pleasure to have this opportunity to teach your child and share the start of their school journey with them. They have brought many smiles and laughs each and every day! It is amazing how far they have come and you should all be so very proud of their hard work. Thank you so much for all your support at home and school throughout the year. We could not have asked for a better class of parents to work with!

Wishing you and your family a safe and happy summer holiday!

Cheryl Eberts and Rachel Maris
