Fund Raiser for EA Booster Club
Dear Engineering Academy Students/ Parents;
The Elkins Engineering Academy Booster Club is presenting a volunteering opportunity for the upcoming Chevron Houston Marathon. The registration is for both parents and students. Please register ASAP to help raise funds for the booster club. We need a minimum of 60 volunteers who actually participate on that day to qualify for the grant. We are looking for much more than that. This can include parents, kids, friends and family. So please pass on the word but make sure you include our code and you must be present on the day of the event for us to get credit. Below is the link and instructions for the registration.

Instructions:
1. You must be 15 years to help with the HEB Food Court area ( our main area requested) however, you may still volunteer for other positions available with the Marathon Committee.
2. “I am part of a group” box must be checked and your group is selected in the drop down menu. Also to reinforce they are signing up for the correct shift, the Join Code: ELKINSABC should be inserted in the box. See image below.

YWE 2020 Fall Academic Scholarship Application is now OPEN!
Deadline for Scholarship Applications October 20, 2019
Eligible applicants are female, graduating high school seniors from the Greater Houston area with exemplary academic records and demonstrated leadership potential. Eligible applicants must plan to attend an Accredited Four Year University or Accredited Two Year Community College in the Fall after the award is made. Proof of registration must be presented to WEN’s scholarship panel prior to disbursement of awards.

FBISD HS Programs Fair
The FBISD Social Emotional Learning and Enrichment Department will be hosting a community high school program fair for all interested 8th graders and we are in need of volunteers to make this event an succes. We are asking for both student and parent volunteers to help promote their programs to the incoming freshman class of 2024. The Event will be held on October 23rd and the Fort Bend ISD Adminstrative Annex Building. Please wear your program shirt and nice kahki pants or nice jeans. Make sure to bring your volunteer form with you if you would like to get hours for this opportunity.

Who: For students- 3rd-12th grades who want to be filmmakers and/or compete in theFBISD Film Fest.

Envision Conference @ Texas A&M
There still spaces available for the pre-built team competition. The Student Engineers’ Council (SEC) at Texas A&M University, would like to invite your students to their annual EnVision Conference, which will be held on Saturday, November 9th, 2019. Information can be found on the following website: http://envision.sec.tamu.edu/ . Please contact Cassie-Kay McQuinn EnVision Marketing Coordinator Student Engineers' Council @ 979.847.8567. This is not an official school field trip. Parents must provide transportation to and from the conference. This event may be use as an enrichment activity for the academy.
