Introduction
To those who want to see an amazing memorial and witness the presence of one of our greatest leaders and presidents of the United States, then go visit the Lincoln Memorial to see President Lincoln in all of his glory. The Lincoln memorial is a special memorial commemorate President Lincoln after his death. The Lincoln Memorial is an important monument that represents our American history.

However the Lincoln Memorial looks like an Ancient Greek temple. Also the statue is 19 feet high and weighs 175 tons. The statue inside was created and designed by Daniel Chester.
Lincoln Memorial
The memorial while great and amazing, came with a hefty price tag of three million dollars. Based on The Guide to The Lincoln Memorial,"The architect was Designed by Henry Bacon in the style of ancient Greek Temple." As a matter of fact, Bacon used various stones from many different states to achieve this legendary memorial. The construction began in 1914 and the finished product was completed and dedicated 57 years after President Lincoln was killed. Some of the stone that makes up the monument is marble from Georgia, white Colorado marble for the exterior, Indiana limestone for the interior walls and pink Tennessee marble for the floor. So we can all see the work and how it represents pieces of America.

The monument represents many things. Based on The Guide to The Lincoln Memorial,"The columns represent the 36 Union States when Lincoln's death happened." Also, for instance 2 of the 58 steps represent the number of terms Lincoln served as president. In addition the remaining 56 steps stand for Lincoln's age when he was killed.

The Lincoln Memorial is an important monument that we can see represents our history. The monument cost a large amount of money but it was very well thought out, and represents a very important person in our history that has influenced so many of the American people. This is why everyone likes to visit and revisit the Lincoln memorial every year.
