Important Announcements!

Spring 2022 STAAR Preliminary Data Files: Race & Ethnicity

The preliminary data files for the spring 2022 STAAR® grades 3–8 and EOC administrations that were published in June 2022 contained Ethnicity/Race Reporting data in position 99, as listed on the STAAR grades 3–8 Data File Format, which were incorrectly calculated for some students.

  • These data do not match the district summary reports, which contain the correctly calculated data.
  • This will be updated in the final files when they become available for districts on July 13, 2022 for EOC assessments, and July 15, 2022 for grades 3–8.

BOY Assessments for HB4545

The use of BOY assessments to make HB 4545 accelerated instruction decisions was for 21-22 only. This will not continue in 22-23.

  • Students that fail and those without a test score will need accelerated instruction.

TELPAS Kindergarten and Grade 1 Reports

In the final TELPAS reports distributed on June 22, information for Years in US School was not included for students in Grade 1.

  • On June 29, 2022, Cambium posted a new TELPAS file containing Kindergarten and Grade 1 records with the Years in US School.
  • Districts will also received updated summary and roster reports for all grades in their TIDE inbox.

CCMR Tracker Part 2 Now Available

The CCMR Tracker is a tracking tool within the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application. This tool provides districts with an early preview of CCMR status for students who were in grades 9–12 during the 2021–22 school year. Please note that while the Tracker contains students who were in grades 9–12 on the 2021–22 PEIMS snapshot, the 2022 version does not contain results from school year 2021–22 as those data have yet to be reported.

The CCMR Tracker is released in two stages:

  • Part I (Released March 31, 2022): CCMR outcomes reported though TSDS PEIMS, TSIA results, and OnRamps course completion through the 2020–21 school year
  • Part II (Released July 1, 2022): CCMR outcomes for SAT, ACT, AP, IB, and level I/II certificates through the 2020–21 school year

The CCMR Tracker is for informational purposes only. If districts find errors, they are encouraged to work with testing vendors to make corrections prior to the student’s graduation. TSDS PEIMS data are final and cannot be corrected.

2022 STAAR: Communication Materials for Parents

TEA requests that districts help ensure parents/guardians have the information they need to access their child's STAAR results and a suite of other resources to support summer learning at home by visiting TexasAssessment.gov. They ask districts to share this information as soon as possible, but no later than the anticipated release date of STAAR results in the family and analytic portals which are now scheduled to be available by Friday, July 1, 2022.

TEA has created the District Communication Toolkit to help campuses communicate with parents on how and when to access their child's STAAR scores. The toolkit consists of working documents that campuses can customize to communicate with families about accessing their child’s STAAR results, including:

Data Clean-up and System Upgrades

The Test Delivery System (TDS), TIDE, and CRS will be offline between August 15 and August 21, 2022, to complete end-of-year data clean-up and system upgrades for the 2022–2023 school year.

  • All systems will be back online on Monday, August 22.
  • Please be sure to download any data files prior to August 14, 2022.

TIDE Updates

  • All user accounts will be carried over to the 2022–23 school year. However, starting August 22, all users will need to set a new password when logging into TIDE for the first time. As part of the data clean-up process, 2021–22 student records, rosters, and student test eligibilities will no longer be available on August 22 when the system is back online. Users wishing to save a copy of their student or roster data from the 2021–22 school year must do so prior to August 14, 2022.
  • Starting on August 22, districts should upload new student files reflecting 2022–23 enrollment data. Test attributes and the fields that drive test eligibility will need to be set for the 2022–23 school year.

Minimum System Requirements for 2022-2023

An updated version of the Minimum System Requirements is available in the Resources section of TexasAssessment.gov. This preliminary version includes information on the operating systems needed to support online testing in the 2022–2023 school year. A forthcoming update will include additional information for Windows and requirements for testing devices.

  • Please note that you will want to make sure that the User Role you select is either DTC or DTA in order to access this information.
  • Select Answer Document Tracking Reports under the After Testing column

Check Out the Analytic Portal

  • The Analytic Portal allows users to view, analyze, and download assessment summary reports. Users can disaggregate and filter data, create charts or tables, and download reports in a PDF or CSV format.

FAQs

What will occur during the TIDE rollover Aug. 15-21? What, if any, data will be purged? Student information from TIDE? Test data from CRS?

  • Any student files must be downloaded prior to August 15. All student information will be purged, so if districts want the files they should download them if they do not have an SIS. The history will still be there. They need to add the accommodations again. All user accounts will have to reset that password.

We're planning to teach a full year in one semester: will students be able to take the December Algebra 1 test upon completion of both Algebra 1 A and 1B?

  • Yes, as long as they completed the TEKS, and in route to receive full credit.

Will test results from June be included in 2022 accountability calculations?

  • No, the 2022 accountability cycle includes assessments from June 2021, fall 2021, and spring 2022. June 2022 results will be the first test administration included in the 2023 accountability cycle.
