Don't Forget Clearances for 2016. . .
I wanted to reiterate some important information that has been shared throughout the past year in preparation for the 2016-2017 school year regarding clearances.
Titus will expect all potential volunteers to complete their paperwork for clearances prior to assuming any volunteer/chaperone role within the school. This will ensure we are in line with district and state expectations.
Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child’s welfare or has direct volunteer contact with children.
Direct Volunteer Contact – The care, supervision, guidance, or control of children and routine interaction with children
Routine Interaction – Regular and repeated contact that is integral to a person’s employment or volunteer responsibilities.
Person Responsible for Child’s Welfare – Person who provides permanent or temporary care, supervision, mental health diagnosis or treatment, training or control of a child in lieu of parental care, supervision and control. Includes any such person who has direct or regular contact with a child through any program, activity, or service sponsored by a school, for-profit organization or religious or other not for profit organization.
Additional information and steps on how to complete your clearances can be found on our district web site by clicking here.
Building a Team From Day 1 . . .
Fifth graders in Mrs. Scherr's class were given a challenge to make the longest paper chain out of only one piece of paper, one piece of tape per loop, and one pair of scissors. They planned, failed, revised and tried again. The longest chain was… 20 feet 4 inches long!
There is an APP for That . . .
The CBSD mobile app provides a convenient new way to connect with your school and access all the information you need - right on your mobile device. Parents can customize the app so they receive news and information from their children's schools including easy access to lunch menus, a staff directory and notifications pushed directly to the app to alert you of important messages from the district or school.
View our video to learn about our new app and the great features that will help keep you up-to-date on the latest school activities, announcements, event and more! Our NEW app is now available in both the Apple Store and Google Play and can be downloaded to mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads, Android Phones, etc.
- Go to the App Store or Google Play
- Search "Central Bucks School District"
- Select "Free" and then "Install"
- You will need to know your Apple or Google account password
- After it has installed select "Open"
Once you launch the app the first time, you will be prompted to select the schools you wish to follow. If you would like to follow additional schools or remove a school, you can do so under the Settings in the app.
Census Verification Forms. . .
Each year, the Central Bucks School District asks our families to fill out a Census Verification Form. This form ensures that student information is accurate. This year, we are asking that you complete your family’s Census Verification Form online by September 16, 2016.
The online form will ask you to confirm and/or update the following:
Demographic Information
Emergency Contacts
Health Information, including permission for emergency care and analgesic administration
Media Release Preferences
Click here to be directed to your Parent Portal account to complete the Census Verification form. Thank you for taking the time to update this important information.
