December Already?

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like the Middle of the Year

Two Weeks Until Winter Break

So little to do and so much time left. Scratch that, reverse it. We will be wrapping up our word study this Friday and not starting a new list until we return from the holidays. We will take our Native Virginians assessment on next Tuesday. TFK will run as normal these next two weeks.

On Monday and Wednesday of next week we will have our reading midyear assessment. This is a test that all fourth graders in the county take. We have broken it up over two days so it mirrors our reading SOL test for later in the year. This test is an assessment of the reading skills the students should learn by the END of the year, so there are some items on the test we will not have covered in class yet. Therefore, I do not use this as a grade as it would be beyond unfair. I will let you know how your child did on the test, but will not share it with your student. This test is a fair indicator of performance on the reading SOL and does help me focus on areas were there may be a need for additional review.

Finally, we began our country research project today. Your child is going to talk with you about it this evening and ask you to sign their agenda.

Lewis and Clark Show Next Tuesday

The performance will be held at 1:20 p.m. and 6 p.m. If you are unable to attend the evening performance, please come to the afternoon show. Please have your child at the evening performance by 5:45 p.m. Please let me know if your child will not be at the evening show.
