At the beginning of the month, 7th grade English students came to the library to chose new books for independent reading through a Book Speed Dating activity.
In honor of Black History Month, 7th grade Spanish students did a research project on famous Afro-latinos. Students used databases and websites to create a poster which was then hung in the classroom for a gallery walk.
7th grade Science students began their big research project on animal adaptations. Students spent two days in the library. The reviewed some research skills, including finding specific information in print sources, using keywords to search databases, and citing the sources they used.
Toward the end of the month, 6th grade Social Studies students spent a day in the library to get started on their New Kingdom Pharaoh research. 6th graders learned how to find specific information in print sources, used a LibGuide to guide their research, and reviewed how to use NoodleTools to cite their sources.
