March (in like a lion, out like a lamb...hopefully!) is upon us and so, too, is the time that we look ahead to 2019-2020! SLS has been busy preparing order forms, delivering training, meeting with librarians and other educators to support our districts!

A Fresh Look at Flocab: April 9

Flocabulary’s animated video content is presented in a fresh, entertaining way, while accompanying games, activities, and lyric labs reinforce essential vocabulary skills. Worlds of Wonder: Apr 12

This workshop will focus on nature education and activities from a broad perspective including not just science aspects, but also creativity and art, physical exercise, stress reduction, and connection with plants and animals. The role of stories and nature will also be explored. Workshop content will cover numerous ways that libraries can increase children’s nature experiences, particularly during the summer school break, in order to encourage the development of ties to the outdoors

Connecting with Artists: May 10

Participants will be able to interact with visiting artists and performers to learn more about their services while also having the opportunity to see some of these performers live and in-person. Participants will have an opportunity to develop deeper connections with these artists based on first-hand experience to support bringing visiting artists into local school districts.

HS to College Supporting Student Success: May 22

Join us for this full-day conference where you’ll have the opportunity to learn from your colleagues as we talk about ways to help our students successfully transition from high school to college. This conference will feature breakouts, panels, and poster sessions, with plenty of time for one-on-one conversations and making connections with educators from around the region.
