Lost & Found
Thursday, October 12th
Please take a look at the photos from our "Lost & Found" section. We will be making a visit to Goodwill to donate anything that's not claimed after Thursday, October 12th.
Socktober
October 9th - October 27th
For the month of October, Student Council will be organizing "Socktober" for the whole school to participate in. Our goal is to collect enough socks to fill the display case! Socks can be dropped off in a box in the atrium (right as students walk into the school). If we're able to fill the whole display case, Mr. Marconi and Mr. Lawrence will have to stay off their feet and get from place to place by riding a tricycle. At the end of the month, we will donate all the socks to a homeless shelter in Cleveland.

Third Grade State Testing
Week of October 16th
Third graders will take the Ohio State Test (OST) on the week of October 16th. Specific testing days and information will be shared by your homeroom teacher soon.
At this time, all TGRG requirements are still in place as well as RIMP requirements. Promotion score of the grade 3 Ohio’s State Test in English Language Arts is at 690 for the 2023-2024 school year; reading subscore alternative promotion score for the grade 3 English language arts test is at 48 for the 2023-2024 school year.
While the retention component can be overridden this year by the parent and school, we still need to encourage students to do their best, as RIMPs are written for any student who does not achieve a 700 on the test. This equates to mandated targeted interventions for three days per week, at least 50 hours over 36 weeks. Any intervention or remediation services required by the Third Grade Reading Guarantee must include intensive, explicit and systematic instruction.
Chromebooks
Using your Chromebook as a charger for your phone can result in severe consequences
1. Potential Damage: Charging your phone through your Chromebook can cause damage to both devices, leading to costly repairs or replacements.
2. Warranty Void: This action voids the manufacturer's warranty for your Chromebook, leaving you without its protection against unforeseen issues.
3. Optional District Insurance Void: It also voids the district insurance coverage for your Chromebook, which means you'll be responsible for any future damages or losses.
This cautionary notice comes in response to an increase in the number of student devices being turned in due to these issues. We want to ensure the longevity and functionality of your Chromebooks and, by extension, your learning experience.
