Parent Connections
sponsored by WJ PTSA
Parent Connection is an informal meeting of parents with children
in the same grade. Some schools call these meetings parent
networking, peer groups, support groups meetings. They are a time
to share experiences and feelings, compare approaches to child
rearing, get to know each other, and encourage networking.
Parent connection groups allow attendees to respectfully hear
what other parents think and feel. They give us a clearer picture
of where other parents stand on relevant issues-
Parent Connection provides a forum where parents may learn that
they are not alone and provides a safe end confidential
environment to share ideas.
Where groups such as parent connection exist, students are
aware that their parents have a regular communication about
ideas, concerns and values-- There is a value and benefit to young
people knowing this.
Parent connection meetings are a time for constructive
communication. They are not group therapy, nor are they a
lecture- Values will vary.
