The 9 Step Recipe for Research
2. Define Your Task -Requirements for project/ paper, fact finding and information analysis.
3. Formulate Questions - Generate questions / keywords you will use to guide your research.
4. Set Goals - What is your goal (to persuade, inform)? What is the best method for presenting your information? Develop your thesis.
5. Select Sources- Find materials (books, databases, videos) that works best to meet the needs of this assignment. Determine pros and cons of resource choices.
6. Gather Information- Read, watch and listen to everything you have collected.
7. Evaluate and Organize your information - Will your research information allow you to "prove" the points of your thesis? If not, you may need to do more research. Write Rough Draft. Remember to cite your sources.
8. Produce Final Draft - Whether the final product is a research paper, editorial, blog, podcast, dramatic presentation, art project, debate or any other format, your odds of success are greatly improved by following steps 1-7.
