Tips & Tricks for being safe online
Here are some important things to remember when being safe online!
Don't post or share personal, private information! Even on apps like Snapchat, your pictures and messages can be screenshot and shared with others without your consent! Once something is on the internet, it can be shared and accessed by others - including potential college and employers!
Keep your posts positive! Try the THINK method before you post... is it True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary, & Kind? If your post doesn't fit those criteria, it may not be appropriate to share!
Know who you are chatting with! Don't accept friend requests, pictures, or links from strangers. The online world can be an amazing place to connect with your friends, but it can also be a place where people are not who they say they are - so be careful to only interact with people you know!
