From the Principal
Dear Parents,
I want to express my sincere thanks to the many parents who have sent me personal emails thanking our staff for keeping kids safe. As you know, we are currently facing some challenging times in schools and we really need your support now more than ever. I am always impressed with your ideas and solutions. Thank you for always providing feedback, but most importantly thank you for remaining positive. Our staff needs to feel uplifted and reassured. In the meantime, we will continue to advocate for “If you see something, say something” in our schools. Fulton County Schools has a mobile app that can be downloaded from your phone and you can provide anonymous tips that go directly to the police department and get investigated.
On a happier note, I want to recognize the students in the photo above: Aaron Palazzo, Lucy Tomich, and Heidi Cay Selby. I was able to join them, along with their parents and fabulous teacher Gina Steffensen, at the Milton City Hall on Tuesday afternoon. These students were able to meet Mayor Lockwood and hang a personal piece of artwork in his office. Afterwards, he gave us a tour of the new City Hall and talked to us about how they do business in the City of Milton. We appreciate Mayor Lockwood taking time out of his day to recognize our students. Two other students, Camille Ivy and Niyati Kumar, also have their artwork on display at the City Hall.
I hope you have a great weekend. March is on the horizon and remember, we need your child at school each day learning! We are several weeks away from our Georgia Milestones testing in Grades 3-5 and our teachers have spent hours with our coaches prepping for instruction over the next several weeks. I want to thank them personally for their hard work! Don’t forget, if you are a parent of a child in Grades 3-5, you are invited to Birmingham Falls Elementary on March 15th at 6:00 pm. We are combining three schools together to make it easier for our presenter. You all are continuously asking for night meetings, so we have made this a reality. Please come out and hear about assessment in Fulton County Schools.
