blue crab decline

farmers
farmers could help save the crabs by using less fertilizer on lawns and farms, and other thing you need to fertilize. when it rains the fertilizer runs off from the wherever it as out, and goes into the bays. this kills many thing the crabs need to survive- like oxygen. scince the crabs have a lack of oxygen they come out of the bay seeking oxygen and eventually die
fishermen
the amount if blue crabs there are, is declining. the cause of these declines are over fishing, and pollution.
-Overfishing is- when people fish over the fishing limit which is 46%, harvesting above this rate removes crabs faster than reproduction, and growth can replace them, causing population decline.
Fishermen don't know when is when, which means that they don't know when they are fishing over the legal limit. A way for them to know that they are fishing the legal limit, is for the government to give each fishing group a number of fish the are allowed to catch, and then when the fishing is done, it will all add up to 46%. This way the fisherman will know what amount to catch and wont overfish.
citizens
when people fertilize, don't recycle, and even flushing toilets, causes pollution in the bay. citizens could be more carful about the way the live their daily lives in order to help stop polluting the bay
