Inc Magazine: Texting while Driving Responsible for Higher Premiums
There have been many instances in the past where severe road accidents have taken place because of the mistake of texting while driving. In Maine, there was an accident involving 10 automobiles and the reason was that a teen driver did not notice red light because she was busing with her mobile. Inc Magazine says that it is easy to avoid such accidents, and also loss of life and property. Drivers only need to avoid using their phones for sending messages while driving.
The habit to write text messages and send them while driving increases chances of an accident drastically. But what is disturbing to know as a car owner is that this habit has also forced car insurance companies to jack up insurance premiums for those who buy their policies. See INC Magazine for more.
As cars are becoming technologically more advanced and safer than ever, it is only natural for us to expect fewer accidents on roads. But how do you teach someone not to use his mobile phone for texting while driving? Automobile accidents are increasing at an alarming rate with each passing year. And mobile phones are playing their part in a large percentage of these mishaps. More mishaps mean more cars destroyed and hence more number of insurance claims from the victims. Insurers are left with no choice but to jack up premiums of their insurance policies as they have been made to bear the brunt of loss of lives and damage to cars.
Inc Magazine says that distracted driving was always there. But large number of apps in mobile phones and their notification sounds are a cause of big distraction for people when they are driving on highways. People should understand that they will be asked to pay more by their insurance companies if they do not give up on the habit to write messages while driving.
