What’s Going on at the Seckman Jaguar Pride Marching Festival?
Location:
Seckman High School
2800 Seckman Rd.
Imperial MO 63052
Admission: Adults-$8; Senior Citizens-$5; Students 6-18-$5; Children under 6 are free. With this admission price, you get a FREE program.
Parking: Spectator parking is in the main lots in front of the high school OR behind the high school OR in front of the elementary school. This is NOT where the buses will be parked.
Water: provided to each band just before and after they perform.
Changing Areas: We must change on the bus again.
Food: Concession stands will be available for food.
The Contest:
- The bands are divided into 2 divisions based on the size of winds and marching percussion. We are in the Blue division and I’m guessing that is the smaller division. All bands will march in finals.
- There will be 2 music judges (averaged for 40% of the score); 2 visual judges (averaged for 40% of the score); Auxiliary and percussion will be combined for the remaining 20% of the score.
- Awards are given for all places plus Outstanding Music, Visual, Percussion and Auxiliary in prelims. Placements awards will be given in finals but not caption awards.
- Students are welcome to sit on the “home” bleachers as long as they don’t fill up, then they will be asked to move to allow room for paying guests.
Pit Crew/Props: We need to be ready just prior to when the band will be brought over. When the previous band is clear, we may head towards the field and set up. Our backdrops may be stored at the rear of the track IF they are there before the contest begins (1:45), otherwise they can move on with our band
Rain Plan: In case of severe weather, the festival will be moved indoors to the Large Gym and judged only on music/auxiliary and percussion. Seating will be limited.
Video Recording: DVD’s will not be sold this year. A video will be recorded and shared with the Parkway via email.
