If you are going to be absent, carefully follow the procedures listed in the teacher handbook.

Copies need to be in by 8:20 AM. There is a 24 hour turnaround from that point.
Name on slip, clear directions
Car and Bus Duty:
- Arrive on time and stay in assigned location
- Your job is to monitor student safety and behavior
- Students should walk and go directly to their location
- If your are unable to come, you must arrange coverage
Checking Out Books from the Media Center
IB: students self-check in and the teacher or Mrs. Blexrud or volunteer checks books out
PLC: Students return books to red cart and teacher, Mrs. Garrett, Mrs. Manzo or volunteer checks books in

Specials and Dismissal Procedures
Music, Art, STEM: Walk students to door and wait for teacher. Pick students up from special class.
5th Grade Specials and Dismissal Procedures:
5th Grade students will be dismissed by the special area teachers. They will not be returning to class after you take them to their special class.
Please drop off and arrive to pick up your class at your designated time.

Parent Communication
● 24 turnaround for responding to parent communication (calls, emails, notes, etc.)
● It is essential to be professional, compassionate and respectful. If a parent gets angry or volatile respond in a calm, professional voice. Do not engage in an argument. If you need assistance, notify the parent that you would like to reschedule the meeting with an administrator in attendance.

Rewards
All classrooms will participate in school wide positive rewards.
· Caught on Camera! You had a great day today!- coupons given by all staff members…drawings held every Friday on the school news.
· When students are caught doing something positive they may report to the PLC or IB office for a prize from the treasure box.
· Grades K-2 Principal’s First Class Traveler Stories – Quarterly/Pick 2 students from each class who have demonstrated an example of excellence in one or more of these characteristics- made good choices, shown improvement, lead by example and/or show a growth mindset.
· Grades 3-5 Principal’s Pizza Party- Quarterly/Pick 2 students from each class who have demonstrated an example of excellence in one or more of these characteristics- made good choices, shown improvement, lead by example and/or show a growth mindset.
