Location of the start/finish: Brand Park, Glendale California @ the doctor's house (historical landmark)
Parking: Volunteers will direct you to park in the park, and out along West Mountain Street just outside the park. Once in the park follow my signs, and blinky lights to the start line.
Check in: Race morning check in will begin at 5am at the start line
Cut off's: This 50k has a cut off time of 10 hours. Absolutely no exceptions. You MUST make it to the 2nd aid station (mile 13) no later than 10am. If you arrive after that you will be sent to the finish for a 30k finish.
Aid stations: You will hit 7 aid stations along the 50k route, and will never go more than 5 miles w/out aid. All aid stations will have: GU gels, GU chomps, GU electrolyte drink, GU Roctane salt pills, boiled potato's, watermelon, bananas, oranges, and massive amounts of sweet & salty snacks. Every aid station will also have gluten free options.
Aid station #1: Mile 3.5

Aid station #3: Mile 13
Aid station #4: Mile 15.5
Aid station #5(DROP BAGS): Mile 20 - Make sure to fill up with water here!
Aid station #6: Mile 24
Aid station #7: Mile 26.5
Finish Line: The race will provide free lunch for everyone at the finish. This will include Subway turkey and veggie sandwiches, Chili if it's a cold day, and loads of treats and snacks.
Race swag: All finishers will receive a beautiful finishers medal, high end race day tech shirt, and finishers pint glass.
Weather: It can be very cold in the winter in the Verdugo mountains, but we can also get a random hot day! You will all receive very detailed pre-race instructions the week before the race with any weather updates. If it's cold plan for it, and if it's hot the aid stations will have plenty of ice.
COURSE INFO & RACE MAPS:
This course is a tough 50k w/almost 8k of climbing. It's ran entirely on groomed double track fire roads, and is not technical. Almost the entire course has epic views, and is a beautiful course. Below is a link to the elevation profile.
