Salk Seahawk Scoop

Salk Elementary School - Vol. One 2021-2022

WELCOME BACK SEAHAWK FAMILY!

Greetings Families,

My name is Adam Fichter and I am proud to be the new Principal at Jonas Salk Elementary. I am so excited to have everyone return to the NEST! I can't wait to meet the students, parents/guardians, and the whole community who comes together to make Salk Elementary such a great place to be. As families have made it through some difficult times, we are anxious to have school return back to normal for everyone. The focus of the year will be on excelling academically, growing in character and emotional development, and having some fun in the process!

Lets get ready to Soar into the 2021-2022 school year Seahawks!

School Supply List for 2021-2022

Here is the link to our Suggested School Supply List for this year.

Bus Stop Information

FIND YOUR CHILD’S BUS STOP ONLINE

Bus stop information will be available online for the 2021–2022 school year starting August 30. You can access your child’s bus stop information by visiting www.fraser.k12.mi.us. Click on the "Bus Stops" link and enter your address to retrieve your child’s bus stop information. It is very important to check your child’s bus stop, as routes have been modified for the 2021–2022 school year. Students will be assigned a route number in lieu of a bus number. The route number is located on the left side of the entry door. To ensure transportation, all students must be at their bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time. Please review with your child the bus rules found on the Transportation Department’s website.

Does Your Child Have a Medical Need?

If your child has specific medical needs, please reach out to the main office prior to the start of school. In order to administer medication, consent forms must be completed. Medication, including inhalers, must be stored in the main office.

Free School Breakfast and Lunch for 2021-22

School breakfast and lunch will be free for all students for the 2021-22 school year. The free/reduced meals application is still strongly recommended for parents/guardians to complete at www.LunchApp.com
