Community Update 10/20/2020
Superintendent Update
Dear Finneytown Community,
Last night the Finneytown Board of Education made the decision to amend our plan for Flex Campus students. The change will go into effect on Monday, November 2, 2020. Flex students will continue eLearning until this date. The plan is still contingent on the Risk Level assigned on Thursdays by Governor DeWine but will now include in-person learning for Level 3 (Red). Previously, the plan had Flex students receiving in-person instruction only when in Level 1 (Yellow) and Level 2 (Orange). If we are designated Level 4 (Purple), we will continue with eLearning for both Flex and Virtual Campus students. Please see the graphic below for details.
Additional Factors
Quarantining
Quarantining will be a reality when students return to in-person instruction. Our staff is committed to following safety protocols and social distancing at 6 feet when feasible. Families will be notified when quarantining is required.
Virtual Campus
There are NO changes to our Virtual Campus for 2nd Quarter.
Switching to Virtual Campus
If you would like your child to switch to Virtual Campus, please email me at tnoe@finneytown.org.
We are not permitting students to switch to Flex Campus.
Athletics
Athletics will continue in accordance with guidelines Ohio High School Athletic Association
We know the current circumstances are challenging for families and our community in many different ways. We appreciate the patience and grace you have provided to our staff as we have worked to develop a plan that is safe, equitable, and inclusive. The situation is dynamic and we will continue to work to be responsive to new information and guidance.
Respectfully,
Terri Noe
Superintendent
