UPDATE #13 For much needed fitness and relaxation!

In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Down Dog, the highest-rated app for practicing yoga at home, announced that it is offering free and total access to all its health and fitness apps to students and teachers until July 1, 2020.

UPDATE #12 AUDIBLE IS FREE!

Please share with teachers and parents! Students can chose from the languages below and listen to stories everyday! Remember that for English Learners, strengthening their L1 will also strengthen L2 development and acquisition.


Audiobooks are available in six languages -- English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Japanese.

Please teach online, zoom meetings, phone calls to check in, etc....You don't know if you have this virus until you have symptoms and by then it's too late and you've spread it. Don't risk your student's health, their parents, their grandparents or anyone in your own family. Teach only ONLINE! We can do this!

UPDATE #11 Reading Assistant FREE!

I called Scientific Learning today and they are offering their Reading Assistant program FREE through June 30, 2020.


I have used Fast ForWORD and Reading Assistant for many years with students from Kindergarten through high school. Please check out the website to register and help your students continue learning.

UPDATE #9 - Mrs. Wordsmith resources!

We are hard at work creating FREE printable resources to use in the event of Covid-19 school closures. We will be unveiling these in the coming weeks. We aim to be the homework of choice for kids and parents alike. We know that homeschool is challenging. Kids learn best when they're motivated and having fun, and it's never been more important to find resources that kids actually want to use.


All of our resources will be:

  • Designed for school or home use
  • Teacher-approved, covering all key aspects of English for KS1 and KS2, SATs, CATs, ISEB, and 11+ to ensure student success
  • Illustrated and explained in child-friendly, engaging formats
  • Focused on keeping kids entertained, engaged, and healthy at home whilekeeping device time to a minimum
  • Exciting reward charts and book challenges - now is the time to read a lot!


We'll send emails about our NEW FREE resources as they come online, and in the meantime, please share this sign-up link with friends, family and colleagues.

Well, who would have thought that we would have to plan for a pandemic with our students? But the reality is we all need to do our part with social distancing and taking care of ourselves and our loved ones and those that we don't even know to keep all of us healthy and lessen the impact of this new virus.
