December is here and winter is definitely in the air! At this time of year we have a lot of lost and misplaced coats, so we recommend writing your child’s name inside their coat somewhere so that we can easily identify whose it is. (Our lost and found is in the front hallway if your child is missing an item!) We do play outside in the cold as well as in light rain, so please make sure your child has appropriate layers for the weather. We know children are always growing out of things so if you need assistance with new gear for this winter, please fill out our SUN family assistance form or contact our social worker Nicole Costello!

We are excited that Family Game Night is back!! We hope you will all join us for pizza, games, and door prizes on Tuesday, December 13 from 6-8pm!

Please help us keep children and families safe during arrival and dismissal time! You can support the safety of our community by:

• Crossing the street only at marked crosswalks

• Driving at the 20mph posted school zone speed limit

• Not making u-turns in front of the school

• Slowing down and checking carefully before entering or exiting the parking lot

If you have concerns about drivers speeding or any other traffic safety issue, you can report those concerns at https://www.portland.gov/transportation/823-safe. Our school staff use this link frequently to report concerns but it is also open to all community members to make a report!
