The Attack on Pearl Harbor

On December 7, 1941, or yesterday, there was a surprised attack on the Pearl Harbor. The Imperial Japanese Military attacked force under the command of Admiral Nagumo, which consisted of six carriers and 423 planes. At six a.m. the first attack wave of 183 Japanese planes took off from the carriers, located 230 miles north of Oahu, and headed for U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor. the second attack wave was at 7;15 a.m. with 167 planes, and was located near Oahu.
After this happened, the Americans were completely taken by surprise. The Japanese Military, was finally at the Pearl Harbor. The first attack wave targeted the airfields and battleships. The next attack targeted other ships and shipyard facilities. Afterward, the casualty list consisted of; 2,335 servicemen, and 68 civilians dead, with 1,178 wounded. Early morning today, on December 8, 1941, The United States and Britain will declare war on Japan, with President Roosevelt calling December 7. A date which will live in infamy.
