April 25 - 30, 2016 - Serve, Lead & Inspire
Hello Lopez Families,
I hope you enjoyed the short week and didn't get stuck too much in the bad weather. I, unfortunately, had quite a bit of hail damage to my house and vehicle, but that is part of life. We have done our best here at Lopez to minimize the problems weather can bring. When the rain was bad, we had a lot of parents dropping off kids in the bus lane in the morning. With how slow it can be during the rain I can understand the need. What we can't have though is kids running in front of the buses causing an unsafe situation. Please be mindful as these buses continue on to other routes and should not be delayed. When the weather is good, we should only have kids dropped off in the loop by the football field. It's just too risky otherwise.
On a funny note, there is a rumor going around that I changed the dress code. I can assure you it is still the same as it has been all year. Please let your kids know that is just wishful thinking, and remind them some schools in our district have uniforms, lol.
Have a good week and GO PANTHERS!
Thanks for all you do,
Eric Wernli
Principal
Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week!
Our administrators, faculty and staff appreciate what our volunteers do every day! No matter what you do for our school - on our campus or at the many events our students participate in - you are a big part of why Lopez shines! Our school couldn't be who we are without the many hours you dedicate to helping our staff and students. It's an awesome thing seeing our parent volunteers come together to be a part of what makes Lopez so special!
