MAY HUSKIE HOWL
NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello SBE Families!
Last week, we kicked off our state testing for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. We look forward to seeing how our students performed in Math and Reading. Over the summer, our teachers will use that information to reflect and plan for the upcoming year!
We have some fun activities planned for the end of the year! Fields trip, field day, a concert and more! We look forward to seeing you at these events. Contact us if you have any questions.
Our Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2nd-6th. It is a wonderful opportunity to thank our dedicated teachers and staff in creative and thoughtful ways. We truly appreciate our amazing Shadow Butte Staff!!

Here's the rendering, we hope we can have our new sign ready to go for the 2022-2023 school year!
Information on Free & Reduced Lunches
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Since the start of the pandemic, we have been proud to serve all students breakfast and lunch at no cost regardless of the family income. While we are currently awaiting final guidance from the USDA, it is likely free meals will end prior to the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
Based on the assumption that the District will need to charge for meals, starting August 22.
So, we are asking families to submit a 2021-2022 SY Free & Reduced Meal Application before May 26th, and a 2022-2023 application again in August, to ensure your student has a 30-day carryover status into the new school year. Doing it twice eliminates gaps between school years.
Applications are completely confidential and will not be shared.
Estimado Familias,

NOTE FROM THE NURSE
As the school year is winding down...
- Please plan to stop by the nurse office to pick up any medication that your student may have.
- The nurse's office is in need of gently used small pants and shoes. I would appreciate any donations and can provide a tax receipt if requested.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2nd - May 6th! You don't have to spend a lot of money to recognize your child's teacher. Consider buying room supplies, give them a basket of their favorite snacks, or have your Huskie write a note thanking their teacher. The ideas are endless!
