Miami Dolphins' Youth Program Donations to our Student Athletes
At Monday’s event, athletes graciously received cleats and new sleds donated by the Dolphins. “It’s a big deal to us,” said middle linebacker Jason Noreus. “Out of all the schools in the county, they picked us and it’s an honor.”

Palm Beach Roadrunners Donate to BBCHS Track and Field
Palm Beach Road Runners is a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping the Palm Beach County community connect running with health and education. Every year, the PBRR board members create scholarships for local school Track and Cross Country programs. This year, our very own BBCHS Track and Field and Cross Country teams were selected to receive this wonderful award.
This generous contribution to the Tigers Athletic Department allows us to continue providing a world-class athletic experience. This donation of $2000 will help fund a new high jump pit. We are so excited to finally get a pit for the school--we could not have done it without the Palm Beach Road Runners. We are so grateful for the support for our Track and Field athletes from Palm Beach Road Runners!

November is Native American Heritage Month
The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. Heritage Month is also an opportune time to educate the general public about tribes, to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges.
Webinar November 12, 2020: Conversation with “Why We Serve” Co-Author Alexandra Harris
Join museum senior editor Alexandra Harris, co-author of “Why We Serve: Native Americans in the United States Armed Forces,” virtually for a discussion about identity and the warrior stereotype of Native people serving in the military, as well as actual—and remarkable—traditions of peace and war within American Indian communities.

Some members are elected by the student body, and others may be appointed by the elected officials to help with specific tasks or areas of interest. Student government represents the best interests of a school’s student body and helps shape the student experience on campus.
SGA offers students excellent ways to get involved in the inner workings of our school. BBCHS who participate in student government gain a range of personal and professional experiences, and they can be exposed to a variety of opportunities in school and beyond.
Elections close at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020. Please email questions to our SGA Club Sponsor, Brandi Bulgin.

Academy Spotlight: Culinary Arts Academy
Caramel apples are one of autumn's great pleasures. These delicious treats are the cousin of candy apples. In the 1950s, an employee at Kraft Foods experimented with leftover Halloween candy and apples--the rest is history.
Last week, our Culinary Arts students continued the tradition by making gourmet candy-coated caramel apples in the professional kitchen at BBCHS. This lab space teaches scholars how to move, work, and cook in a commercial kitchen. Chef Patrick Golden ensures the teaching kitchen is utilized for holistic, hands-on lessons.
Our Culinary Arts Academy provides the opportunity for students to train for a variety of careers in the field of food service and preparation. Academic and technical studies are integrated, emphasizing and building proficiency in food production and cooking, cost control, nutrition and sanitation and workplace safety. Practical work experience stresses sanitation and safety and includes quantity cooking, baking, menu development and food preparation. School site restaurants and catering opportunities will further enhance front and back of house skills as well as restaurant management.
