Principal's Message
It is time to meet with teachers to discuss your child's progress. If you have yet to schedule a date and time for parent teacher conferences, please reach out to your child's teacher. Conferences are scheduled between Wednesday, November 20th-Monday, November 25th.
Conferences are a time in which you can ask questions about your child's progress and receive information on how to support your child's learning at home.
- Make a list of questions to bring ahead of time
- Discuss the whole child. Your child’s social and emotional development is as important as academic success. Include questions about her interaction with other children and willingness to participate in class discussions.
- Make a list of highlights for the year and share them with your child's teacher.
Please remember to be prompt, as teachers have over twenty parents to meet with over the course of a few days. If you will need an interpreter, please inform the teacher prior to the meeting.

Murwood Walk-A-Thon this Thursday during PE
The Murwood PTA is hosting a Walk-A-Thon this Thursday. This is an opportunity for the children to have fun and support our school at the same time. The proceeds help to fund programs such as Soul Shoppe, Science Fair, Track & Field Day, Walking Club and much more. Donations can easily be made through the PTA website. The suggested donation is a $30 flat donation (not a pledge per lap) but any amount is greatly appreciated.

Reason #44 Science Matters
Reason #44 why students need dedicated science specialists and weekly lab time? We believe in research and our CA students are behind. In the 2015 study, “The Nation’s Report Card,” the average score of 4th graders in CA was 140. This was lower than the national average score (153). More funding means dedicated science specialists and class time.
