My Name is Israa Elnwawy.

I am a mother of three kids. Two of them are students at Gables Elementary School. I graduated with a Science degree from Egypt where I worked as a science teacher for 3 years. I moved here to Columbus at the beginning of 2020 with my family, and I worked as a teacher again in Ohio Kids Academy and Kindercare Learning Center. In my free time I enjoy going out to parks to have fun with my kids, going to the movies, sometimes shopping, and reading.

I am so excited to be a Family Ambassador and to work with each of you and increase our voices and presences at Gables Elementary School.

Our Spring Flower sale started today, February 25. Here are some important dates for the spring flower sale.

• February 25th: Spring Flower Sale begins
• March 11th: Last day to order flowers. The on-line sale ends at 11:59pm.
  
• Delivery date: May 13th
  

Hopefully you will receive the brochure and envelope in your child’s bookbag either today or tomorrow. On Friday(2/25), you will receive an email to the email address you provided to Gables. The email will come from Foertmeyer and Sons and include a link and access code for your child. Please share this link and code with your family, friends, and neighbors who might want flowers. You can also post it on Facebook and other social media platforms.

Prizes Gators may earn:

• Top Individual seller from k-2 and 3-5 will have a special lunch with Mrs. Lausch
• Top selling Classroom will receive a Pizza Party
• Any Gator that sells 10 or more items will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card

The school can accept donation of new socks, new underwear and sweatpants.

Kind people show concern for others and are helpful, generous, and considerate. They often do nice things without expecting nice things in return.

Help connect social emotional learning (SEL) at home with school by encouraging your Gator to display Kindness and maybe be selected for Student of the Month in their class!

• BlendED enrollment (CCS online school) is open now through February 28. Apply in the Parent Portal.

School Choice and BlendED are optional programs - families are not required to participate in these. The typical Gables' pathway is: grades K-5 attend Gables ES, grades 6-8 attend Ridgeview Middle School, and grades 9-12 attend Centennial High School. You do not need to submit any applications or paperwork to continue in this neighborhood academic pathway.
