The book fair will also be open for shopping during this event :) Our new spring vendor is AWESOME!!
We recognize that some of our families could benefit from a bus service to transport their child to and from school each day.
We need to gather information from each of the interested families and pass it along to the bus companies that we are looking into. The bus companies will then determine the bus routes and bus stops.
- The cost is about $175/student per month with a $25 sibling discount.
- The bus will have the students at the school by 7:40 a.m. and there will be one afternoon transport, leaving the school at 4:30 p.m.
If you are interested, fill out the linked form below by March 15, 2017.
Once we have the information from all of the interested families, it will be shared with the bus companies. We will share the outcome as soon as we can. Thank you!

ONGOING THIRD GRADE PROJECTS IN AND OUT OF THE CLASSROOM
The third graders have been assigned a project in social studies where they will work to create a good or service to sell to their classmates in order to broaden their understanding of economic concepts. Students have been given time in class to plan and prepare for this project. They should keep this in their take home folder, so they can work on it when they have available time. The creation of the product, preparation for the service, and a poster advertisement providing must be completed at home.
Parents are NOT expected to incur any cost or inconvenience for this project. Students are encouraged to come up with an idea that they can make themselves using supplies they already have at home or can obtain at school. Their ultimate goal of Market Day is to make the largest profit possible. So they should spend the least amount of money possible in order to maximize profits!
The culmination of the project will be a simulation of a marketplace where they will sell their items to their classmates on March 30, 2017. You are encouraged to come! It will be 1st and second period (8:30-10:30) for all third grade students. Students will be given money to spend on others products and services.
The project was taken home today, and students have already been working on it in class!
Narrative Writing
Your child have is in the process of becoming a published author of their very own picture book! I have conferences with each student and approved of their topics. Most of this project will be completed at school. Students will have time to type their final drafts at school as well. However, if your child is having difficulty meeting deadlines, I may ask you to come to tutoring for additional support and/or time to complete. Third grade will have Author's Night on April 17th to displayed our books!
**It is recommended you purchase a jump drive/ flash drive to save progress. They will havetiem to work on this in the library and Mr. Sanal's computer class, so they will be on multiple computers. Please make sure your name is written on it using Sharpie.
