Matt's Monday Memo
November 19, 2018
Good morning, Staff,
Positive psychologists (they focus on life satisfaction and happiness) recommend based on in an increasing body of research that if we express gratitude each day in many potential formats we can significantly boost our happiness and well-being. As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I am sharing one practice suggested of writing down five things for which we are grateful.
- For our dedicated faculty that take seriously both rigor and relationships on behalf of our students. Doing both well consistently is a challenge, and you do it each day.
- I am appreciative of our custodians' lead by Donnie Arnold. They work to convey care and pride for our instructional settings and support so many events.
- Our support staff that endeavors to be ambassadors and first responders as needed. They are often the initial entry into the school for parents and community members.
- Our post-school day educators that provide additional connections to student passions in the library, the fields/courts, and the theatre. Those experiences have such meaning to our students and families.
- Our administrative team that has been so engaged in our shared work to support all those who enter our building. Each brings particular strength to our collective efforts and we would be incomplete without them.
In gratitude,
Matt
