Lunar New Year February 1st
Students will be celebrating in advisory on Tuesday.
Ask them what they learned.
We need these celebrations to combat discrimination.
We have students making racist remarks about eye size and eye slant to our Asian students. This is hurtful. We don't want this to occur and please talk to your student about being sensitive to others. 'I am just playing/kidding' is NOT an acceptable answer. Bullying will not be tolerated and we have strict procedures to follow if your child is involved. Please report to us any incident of bullying or discrimination.

Share Stories. Highlight Traditions. Build CommUnity
The BSD Communications team invites students in grades 8-12, staff and families to apply to join our inaugural group of CommUnity Ambassadors. CommUnity Ambassadors will meet monthly to connect us to the stories of our district. Ambassadors are representatives of their communities, cultures and traditions and will help to radiate the stories that make BSD a vibrant, diverse and multi-faceted CommUnity.
All interested students, staff and family members are asked to complete and submit this brief application form by Friday, February 11, 2022. The application is available in different languages by using the pull-down menu on the upper right side of the form. The CommUnity Ambassadors group will meet monthly beginning in March 2022. Meetings will take place virtually on the first Tuesday of each month. For questions, please contact trichelg@bsd405.org.

School Levy time in February-ballots are here!
Ballots are here! Remember to vote by Tuesday, February 8
All Bellevue School District voters should have received a ballot in the mail. We have two levy renewals on the ballot to support our students, staff and schools.
These two levies are not new taxes but replace current levies that expire later this year. The levies continue funding for staff, academic programs, technology and building repairs. You can learn all about Propositions 1 and 2 at https://bsd405.org/about/school-levies/
Want to know more about how to register to vote in King County, how to vote, or what to do if you lost your ballot? Check out King County Elections at https://kingcounty.gov/depts/elections.aspx

We want to hear from you: Family Grading Survey
Each Bellevue School District family has a unique experience with grades and grading, and we invite you to share yours by completing the Family Grading Survey. While the focus is on grades 6-12, we invite all families to complete the anonymous survey. The deadline for your input is 11:59 p.m. PT on February 1, 2022.
>> Take the survey
The survey is available in multiple languages including English, Amharic, Arabic, Spanish, Korean, Russian, Vietnamese, and Simplified Chinese. You may view and answer the survey in whichever language you feel most comfortable.
To access the online survey, you may click the link or copy and paste it into your browser https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/6657306/BSDFamilyGradingSurvey
Your feedback will inform recommendations to district leaders about improvements to grading for students in grades 6-12. For more information, visit our website at https://bsd405.org/grades.
Thank you in advance for your participation.
