This exciting event will be held at Garnet Valley Elementary School. During your visit, you will participate in a special learning activity and have the opportunity to chat. Please eat before you attend as we are not serving refreshments this year.
You may park or be dropped off in front of the school and enter through the lobby. For traffic and logistical reasons, please do not plan on entering more than five minutes before your scheduled time. A guide will show you the way to the room where your visit will be held. Please note that all third and fourth grade classrooms are on the second floor. An elevator is available but a lot of walking is also needed to reach it. Visitors must also be capable of exiting the building on their own in an emergency.
Note to parents/guardians: If your child does not have a grandparent/special person visiting, they will be included within a group for the project/discussion. Since parents will be invited to visit the classroom in November, we encourage you to have another relative, neighbor, or friend attend if grandparents are unavailable. Due to space restrictions, we are unable to accommodate younger siblings/children.
We are very proud of all that we do in Garnet Valley Elementary School, and we can’t wait for you to join us.
PLEASE CLICK HERE TO RSVP before October 5th. THANK YOU.

Elementary After School Activities
The Elementary After School Activity Program is designed to provide a variety of opportunities for students. Ranging from art to robotics, teachers have created programs that they believe are developmentally appropriate and a lot of fun!
By clicking on this link (Elementary After School Activity Program), parents will have access to the brochure that lists all of the activities by school. Students may register for more than one activity as long as the dates and times don’t conflict. Unfortunately, since the activities start immediately after the school day, it is not possible for students to participate in activities at other elementary schools.
We hope that you will participate in this program. We believe that, like our summer camps, the Elementary After School Activity Program is a great opportunity for students.
To register online, please go to myschoolbucks.com. If you prefer to use paper, please print the enrollment form in the back of the brochure and send it to school with a check.

Garnet Valley CTC Quick Tip #6
The results are back from the 2017 Pennsylvania Youth Survey for Garnet Valley’s 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th graders. We also have results from 2013 and 2015.
The results of this anonymous survey are self-reported and represent 83.9% of our students.
Did you know? The percentage of students in Garnet Valley reporting that they were bullied via social media in the past 12 months has decreased from 12% to 10% between 2013 and 2017. At GVSD we are working to foster the practices of Digital Citizenship for all students. They are digital natives and will grow and learn in that environment. Let’s give them the tools to manage the challenges and the training to reap the rewards.
Call to action… Join us on Tuesday, 10/2/18, at GVMS at 7 pm for the film Screenagers. Read more about the film and register for the event below.
